Introduction to teaching and research office of Internal Medicine
The Internal Medicine Department of ZCMU Second affiliated hospital has more than 50 years’ history, which undertakes clinical tasks, scientific researches, and medical talents’ cultivation. It has 11 Senior Doctors, 15 Associate Senior Doctors, 23 attending physicians, and 2 ‘151 program’ talented persons. Among them, 6 has PH.D degree, 38 has Master degree. Now the Internal department contains 7 departments such as: Respiratory Disease Department, Cardiovascular Disease Department, Digestive Disease Department, Blood Disease Department, Endocrine Disease Department, Rheumatics, Immune and Kidney Disease Department, and Emergency Department. Rheumatics Department takes the leading position on treating the Rheumatic Diseases by the integrated TCM and Western Medicine way in the hospital.
Now it has 6 full-time teachers, 3 professors, 1 associate professor, 2 lecturers. In the recent 5 years, it undertook more than 40 scientific research programs, and many key programs. It has published more than 100 dissertations on domestic famous journals and more than 10 in SCI. It has obtained more than 10 scientific research prizes of different levels and 5 patents. It also published 3 monographs and 8 textbooks.
The teaching and research office of Internal Medicine also takes advanced teaching methods to teach the students, such as model teaching, simulated patients, and PBL, etc. Furthermore, it set up the General Medicine training centre to improve the cultivation to General Medicine personnel.
